Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery prepares the ground for the new future at NEOM

Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery is playing a vital role in the construction and development of one of the World’s most ambitious new mega-developments.  NEOM is described as a vision of what a new future may look like; the estimated US$ 500 billion regional development in northwest Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea being built from the ground up as a living laboratory, and a place where entrepreneurship will chart the course for this new future.

The team at Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery secured a new contract with key groundworks contractor, Al Asast Al Watanya Co., which sees the provision of an initial seven Komatsu D275 Dozers.

Each unit specialized for mining, heavy-duty and large-scale civil works, featuring powerful engines, sigmadozer blades, and unparalleled operator comfort and safety in the segment.

The 50-tonne machines have been sold to the contractor to create construction access from Highway 55 to Area 4 and Zone E site preparation works.

The deal is the latest in a well-established relationship which has seen Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery provide a range of Komatsu Machines, Bulldozers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Dump Trucks and Motor Graders.

Abdul Latif Jameel Heavy Equipment, an Abdul Latif Jameel business, today announced plans to build and operate a state-of-the-art facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, designed to provide easy access to customers as well as best-in-class services in the heavy equipment sector.

The announcement was made during a ground-breaking ceremony which was attended by Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, Chairman and President of Abdul Latif Jameel and also by Hassan Jameel, Deputy President and Vice Chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel Domestic Operations. Representing Abdul Latif Jameel Heavy Equipment was M. Arif Chishti, Managing Director, as well as well as the senior management teams of the consultant and contractor for the project.

Construction boom drives demand for heavy equipment in Saudi Arabia

The state-of-the-art facility will contribute to the growth of the local economy as it complements the country’s recently announced Vision 2030. Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery trains Saudi women in forklift skills

Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery has introduced a new apprentice course in Riyadh to train Saudi women to operate forklifts, after the company signed formal service provider contracts with several national institutions.

The company has allocated an experienced and highly qualified team to train the first batch of trainees about forklift-related procedures. Participants in the training program will learn about the safety requirements and standards required for forklift operators, and will receive a completion certificate from Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery at the end of the course.

The training course represents an exciting new challenge for Saudi women who have seen numerous new career opportunities open up for them recently, particularly at Abdul Latif Jameel companies.

The new training program is part of the company’s policy to be at the forefront of national developments and new initiatives, and further ensures they are keeping up with market changes.

Gearing up for success in Material Handling

Abdul Latif Jameel Machinery’s materials handling arm, has opened its first sales, service and spare parts (3S) showroom in a ceremony attended by the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Toyota Material Handling International, Yoichiro Yamazaki.

The Jeddah facility, which was opened in July 2017, aims to sell 600 units per year through its 11-strong sales team.  As a sign of its early success, 39 towing tractors were delivered to Saudi Airlines in September.

It also provides a spare parts delivery service stretching from Tabouk to Al Qonfozah, and operates 10 mobile workshops.

Abdulrazig Eltayeb, Acting Director of Abdul Latif Jameel Industrial Equipment, is keen to drive forward with further developments in the coming years.  In 2018, the Jeddah facility will expand its range of electric vehicles, and roll-out a long and short rental service across its full range of vehicles.  It also aims to offer a range of used forklift trucks by 2020.
